Changing topics again.

I have chosen to write about classic 80's music instead of Fight Club because I could not find any articles that thoroughly examined the movie. I have found many articles about 80's music, but do not know which direction to take these viewpoints from others. I think I am going to compare the bands still playing today from the 80's to the same band while they played in the 80's. Bands such as Journey, who lost it's claim to fame along with the hip injury of Steve Perry are struggling to continue without his help. Also, other bands still playing seem weird to me because they are singing the same songs as they did when they were young well into middle age. Hearing Cheap Trick play "Surrender" today just is not the same as it was in the 80's.

Articles on Cult Classics

I have found numerous articles relating to the movies specifically, but I am still trying to find articles that will be good enough to use to provide a detailed 4th paper. One paper compares The Warriors to other cult classics, but his article is very biased, to the point that he does not even argue a counter point and refers to other movies as garbage. Other than this slight problem the research for this paper is going good.

Cult Classics

I have decided that Fight Club is too general of a topic to blog about, and instead I am going to focus on cult classics such as Fight Club, The Warriors, and Army of Darkness. From the articles that I am reading some people think that Cult Classics are movies that people either love or hate, but I do not think that is the case. One aspect of Cult Classics I am interested in exploring is Gender and it's effects on how people view these Cult Classic movies. I think that Women do not like these movies as much as men because most are based upon violence and action. I may be wrong about this so I am going to research my hypothesis and ask Women about their opinion of these movies. I am still trying to figure out how to post articles to this site so when I figure it out I will post the articles I have read.

Finding Educational Articles.

I am still looking into this, but I believe I have found a serious and educational article about the movie fight club. I am a big movie fan myself and would love to blog pointlessly about my favorite movies, but Fight Club is not only a good movie, it's main point is deep and rooted in the plot of the movie. Combine Ed Norton and Brad Pitt co-staring as the main character and you have a pretty good movie, but Fight Club isn't about fighting as much as it is about finding out your true identity by looking deep within yourself. It addresses the internal conflicts that average Americans face on a daily basis. Moral, Political and Social norms are attacked and questioned in this movie and it makes you think about life, especially your own. I would recommend this movie to anyone, even my Grandma, because it isn't all about violence and the overtones of the movie are relevant even 10 years after the movie was made and I am sure it will be 100 years from now as well.

Finding popular culture articles.

Finding articles about fight club and it's effect on modern American society has proved to be quite a task. I have found numerous sites that provide the rules of fight club and analyze the movie, but I am continuing to look for informational articles that can relate to the movies effect on popular culture. In a way I guess one effect would be the fact that people have designed websites dedicated to the movie, but I guess everyone is following rules one and two of fight club, "You DO NOT talk about fight club." Come to think of it, I am talking about fight club right now and might have to face the consequences of my breaking the rules.
